An old hat at writing for business and sometimes for the web, I decided to expand my experience with social media by putting it to use for myself. Well, that’s the professional excuse. My wife just wants me to bother the rest of the world with my thoughts so she can have a break!
Why “afoolsfool”?
- The URL is available.
- I’m a big fan and subscriber to The Motley Fool.
- I thought a lot about writing about finance and decided if I do it as ‘a fool’s fool’ then I can also not only refer people to The Motley Fool, but also possibly get paid to do so through referrals.
- If I use this name, no one should take anything I say all that seriously and I can be myself and joke whenever I want to. If anyone takes something I say without thinking about it for themselves – then they are a fool. And then they will be a fool for me, which is still A Fool’s Fool and the URL still works!
The only drawback I have found so far is that #afoolsfool seems to have been adopted by people trying to call out others for being stupid. That is unfortunate and I’m not eager to be associated with that movement. However, at the same time, I could use publicity, so I’ll see what I can do to reprogram that meme for a better use.
This blog site will start with finance and may drift to the 1,000 other topics I am interested as the muse strikes. If I can draft other friends and family members into contributing, it may diversify more! Only time will tell.
